Minas Metais Exportadora S.A. is one of the most important pig iron and charcoal exporters of the world. Established in 1997, the Group currently accounts for 43% of all pig iron exports originated in Southeast Brazil.

With production headquartered in Southeast Brazil, the Group deals in logistics and the international trade of nodular, semi-nodular, foundry, and steelmaking pig iron. Group shareholders include experienced pig iron makers, combined in a modern, agile organization based on rigorous efficiency parameters, respect, trust, and partners with a shared vision for the future. The good performance delivered by Minas Metais reflects the quality of the products traded by the Group, the ongoing search for efficiency, and the commitment to customers located in the most important buyer markets.

Nine traditional pig iron makers – Eight located in Minas Gerais and one in Espírito Santo – make up the Minas Metais Group. Since its foundation, the Group has consistently expanded its market reach through sales of superior quality pig iron.

The Minas Metais Group exports approximately 500,000 tons of pig iron a year, from a rated exporting capacity of 1.5 million tons a year.
